If you’ve been in a bit of a bubble lately 🫧 I invite you to POP it and join me along with 14 other founders to work out how you can all get more support in and for your business. There’s no gatekeeping in these conversations, it’s an open and honest discussion with other people who are going through the same challenges as you. There will be open forum discussion, small group breakouts so you can have a proper chat with your peers, and all facilitated by me (Emily, hi!) to make sure we stay more or less on topic and don’t run out of things to say (though this has NOT been a problem in previous events!)

When was the last time you spent 55 minutes understanding how people just like you are feeling about building their businesses in travel and hotel tech?

Would you like to join us?

The topic we’ll discuss is how to get more support in and for your business (even if you’re bootstrapped).

As a founder you have to wear ALL the hats: sales, marketing, product, finance, operations. And no one teaches you how to do it. It can be tiring; the context-switching can lead to making mistakes and burnout. And you might go a few days where the only business conversation you have is with Claude (who just agrees with you all the time).

Then as you level up in your business and streeeetch your comfort zone, the kind of support you need changes too. Another level, another devil. What got you here won’t get you there etc. etc.

Support could look like:

  • Getting a VA
  • Making a fractional hire
  • Getting an intern
  • Paying a coach
  • Finding a mentor or advisor
  • Making a REAL hire!
  • Working with tourism boards, DMOs, incubators…
  • Pitching for investment
  • Having sponsors or champions inside companies
  • Friends that will get you on stages

All of which takes a lot of careful consideration to solve the right problem for the stage you’re at, time to find the right person, and possibly money to pay them. You don’t want to waste all of that on getting the ‘wrong kind of support’!

I’ve seen this need for support in my founder clients too. They say things like:

  • As a solo founder, I find myself with loads of ideas and no one to chat about it, except Claude. And Claude isn’t really the best for that.
  • It’s tricky because we have loads of energy but it’s important to execute in the right direction and we need that clarity.
  • I really value someone keeping me honest. I could have asked myself these questions, but the real value is having somebody else ask: hey, have you thought about your sales funnel?

And I don’t want you to feel like you have to do it alone! One of the bits I love about my job is bringing people together (just ask my clients, one of them called me an “intro machine”).

So on the 9th September, we’re getting together for 55 minutes to break down those walls, share ideas and maybe even some *feelings* about how you manage to get more support. (Don’t worry, you won’t have to share anything about your business that you don’t want to – this is for people to discuss the skills of Foundership).

If this sounds intriguing or at least interesting, let’s get together and have a chat.

Here’s what other people said after the last event:

  • A great mix of people and a very open, honest discussion. I left with a few ideas to put into practice straight away and good contacts to do in linkedin
  • It was brilliant, certainly our group was we ran out of time, we needed more and a load of LI connects have been made after.
  • It was really good! Very engaging, well done Emily 👏🏾👏🏾
  • I feel like that could have gone on for hours

About Emily

I’m celebrating 15 years of being in the industry by working with founders, entrepreneurs and freelancers to do the thing they want to do as well as they possibly can.

I spent most of my corporate career convincing hotels to do what my company needed them to do, but I was never one for bullying or intimidation tactics. As someone who actually cares more about people than profit, I made sure to build strong relationships with my hotel partners and find that magical overlap of what they wanted and what I could offer.

Then I hopped over to the ‘dark side’ and learned to speak the Hotelexicon™ so you don’t have to. I’m certified in Hotel Industry Analytics, so basically I’m fluent in acronyms. Two years inside a huge global hotel company really teaches you a thing or two about why hotels say yes… and no.

Now I’m the Chief Magnet Maker, a qualified coach and NLP practitioner, and use those skills together with my experience across three continents to support people turn their dreams into plans. I’m building my business at the same time you’re building yours, and I won’t gatekeep what I’m learning.

We need more good people being their best selves and getting their creative ideas out into the world, and I’m thrilled to be a part of that.

FAQs

Q: Will there be a replay?
A: No, there won’t be a recording shared to respect the privacy of everyone in the room. I want everyone to feel free to share openly. (My notetaker will be there in case inspiration strikes me for creating content or a LinkedIn Live, but I won’t share the transcript or recording).

Q: Is this an online training?
A: No, it’s a discussion with your peers. I’ll have a few prompts and questions but essentially, the floor is open! It’s your opportunity to meet other founders who get it.
