Over the past couple of years I’ve done an awful lot of talking (in public) and listening (in private).

I’ve hosted webinars, masterclasses and quests, and you may have watched me broadcast from LinkedIn every single Monday morning.

With my clients, it’s a different story, when one well-placed question can lead them on a journey of discovery and I get the joy of sitting back and hearing it unfold.

The missing element has been bringing like-minded people together, to speak and to listen to each other.

I mean, when was the last time you spent 40 minutes understanding how people just like you are feeling about their careers in travel?

I haven’t done this before and I’m not sure how it’ll go, but I’m excited to try. Will you join me?

The topic we’ll discuss is how to build a resilient career roadmap in travel.

When I surveyed travel professionals in 2025, 78% of them said they’d love to learn about building a career plan, for the short, mid and long-term. So that’s where we’re starting 🙂

I’ve seen the same trend with my coaching clients too. They say things like:

  • Up until now, everything just kind of happened. I’d like to make the next steps in my career a bit more on purpose.
  • I’ve always been headhunted and invited into roles before, so when I started looking for a new job for the first time in my life, I was like, oh, this is different!
  • A lot of times I’m looking at the same jobs on job boards again and again, and I don’t even know where else my skills can apply to.
  • My career plans don’t fit with what the company is trying to box me into.
  • I’m demotivated because I am not being recognised, and don’t know what my next move is. I’m at that crossroads right now where I’m asking myself, is there more?

Overlay that with the huge changes in our industry because of how AI and technology is changing our roles, the mass redundancies we’ve seen in companies presumed to be “big enough to be safe” and it can start to feel a bit depresso. Not to mention the impact of a certain country leader’s policies on their own tourism industry and worldwide jet fuel prices…

But it ain’t all bad. According to the World Travel & Tourism Council, over the next decade, Travel & Tourism is projected to generate 91 MILLION new roles, accounting for one in every three net new jobs created globally. By 2035, global demand for workers in Travel & Tourism will outpace supply by more than 43MN people, leaving labour availability 16% below required levels. And we are in essence a human-led industry. We’ve always been high-touch and I believe our clients and partners will still need that in the future.

If this sounds intriguing or at least interesting, let’s get together and have a chat.

About Emily

With 15 years in commercial roles across the travel industry including a decade in B2B hotel distribution (Hotelbeds, GTA, JacTravel) and two years as commercial lead at IHG Hotels & Resorts, I’ve built deep industry expertise across Latin America, Europe, and Asia. These experiences reinforced a truth: ambitious teams often burn out without the right support, and people lose their spark when unsure of their career path.

Outside of work, I’m a traveler at heart, an advocate for personal growth, and a believer that where you start in life shouldn’t define where you end up or how much fun you have along the way.

Q: Will there be a replay?
A: No, there won’t be a recording shared to respect the privacy of everyone in the room. I want everyone to feel free to share openly.

Q: Is this an online training?
A: No, it’s a discussion with your peers. I’ll have a few prompts and questions but essentially, the floor is open!
